Pumpkin Pickers At The Fall Fest Pumpkin Patch ~2016
Annual Meeting and Ol' West Lunch ~2016
The Saint Vrain Mill Preservation and Historical Foundation held its Open House, Annual Membership Meeting, and special program on Saturday, June 18, at the Mill. The special program consisted of two speakers who performed encore presentations of their lectures at the Santa Fe Trail Descendants Conference in Las Vegas, NM, on June 16 and June 17. Christine St Vrain-Fischahs (great, great, great, great, grandniece of Ceran St Vrain) spoke about her ancestors, Ceran and Marcellin St Vrain and their descendants, to the present day. Francois-Marie Patorni spoke on "The French on the Santa Fe Trail and Northern New Mexico" and the legacy they left in Mora.
Attendees had been asked to wear period dress, if they could, and about a dozen braved the heat and did so--much to the appreciation of the others. The activity started off with an "Old West" meal. Fifty-five or so members enjoyed the meal served by Comedor de San Pascual Soup Kitchen. Lunch was followed by a brief annual membership meeting at which new Directors were elected to the Board. See the "About" section of this website for a list of current officers and directors.
